SWING 2015

The School of Social Work welcomed this year’s group of rising high school seniors for the SWING (Social Work Introduction for the Next Generation) program. For 3 days, 19 students had the opportunity to speak to current MSW students and social workers, familiarize themselves with the UNC campus, partake in several academic/volunteering activities, learn more about the field of social work and the MSW program at UNC, and learn how to prepare to be better equipped for college.

Some of the activities the students participated in include:

Social Work Presentation/Panel
Tour of UNC Basketball Museum and Campus tour
Film Screening and Discussion of “Intervention”
College 101 Panel
Tour and Volunteering at the nonprofit organization The Healing Place of Wake County
Recovery Community Messaging Training
